FAQ

Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s Equol is produced by fermenting soy germ with a proprietary lactic acid bacterium.

Soy germ is the part of the soybean that develops into roots and sprouts. It contains the highest concentration of isoflavones.

Your gut microbiota changes daily due to factors like health and stress, so even if you can produce Equol, the amount may fluctuate—or you may suddenly stop producing it. Also, Equol is only produced when you consume soy. Since Equol does not remain in the body and is excreted daily, we recommend taking Equol every day, even if you can produce it naturally.

Not at all. Soy contains many beneficial components besides isoflavones, such as soy protein, dietary fiber, saponins, and oligosaccharides. We recommend eating soy foods and adding Equol as a supplement.

The likelihood is considered low. Equol is produced by specific gut bacteria, and the types of bacteria that colonize your gut are thought to be determined in childhood. Why some people can produce Equol and others cannot is still unknown.

It combines “Equol” with “Elle,” the French word for “woman.”

Pink represents femininity, and green symbolizes healing.

EQUELLE is a food product, so take it whenever convenient. You can take all four tablets at once or split them into two doses of two tablets each.
In clinical trials conducted by Otsuka Pharmaceutical, participants took two tablets in the morning and two in the evening.

The tablets are made by compressing fermented soy germ powder without extraction or concentration, which determines their size.

When chewed, you’ll notice the distinctive flavor of soy and a slight bitterness.

Based on various research data and clinical trials under medical supervision, the recommended daily intake of Equol was set at 10 mg.

EQUELLE is designed to support women’s lifelong health and beauty.
It is recommended not only for women in their 40s and 50s but also for those before and after this stage as a foundation for health and beauty.

Yes, EQUELLE can be taken by anyone, regardless of gender.

If you combine EQUELLE with other supplements containing Equol or soy isoflavones, ensure your total daily isoflavone intake does not exceed 30 mg. Four EQUELLE tablets contain 16.4 mg of isoflavones.
Note:
According to the Food Safety Commission of Japan, the upper limit for additional daily intake of soy isoflavones (as aglycone) in specified health foods is 30 mg.

The recommended daily Equol intake of 10 mg is equivalent to the amount produced from one pack of natto by someone who can produce Equol naturally.
So, you can take EQUELLE in addition to your usual soy foods without concern.

Since EQUELLE is made from soy fermented with lactic acid bacteria, please avoid it if you have a soy allergy. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants, and young children should not take this product. If you are taking medication or under medical care, consult your doctor before use. If you experience any discomfort, discontinue use. For detailed precautions, please refer to EQUELLE’s usage instructions.
